Margaret O. Sowers

Margaret Sowers nee Wolberg died peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2007, at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, where she had resided for several years. She was 92 years old. Margaret was born and raised in Iola, Wisconsin, the eldest of five children of Ole and Nettie Strand Wolberg. As a very young woman, Margaret traveled to Chicago, where she worked as a beautician and where she eventually met and married William Sowers in 1943. They made their home together in Chicago and Oak Park, Illinois, until Bill’s death in 1978. Margaret later resided with her son Victor Jane Sowers in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, where she was a member of Community United Methodist Church. She enjoyed drawing and reading, and could usually be found with at least three books in progress at any time. Margaret is survived by her two sons, Arthur Jill Sowers of Georgetown, Delaware, and Victor Jane Sowers of Cedarburg, and three grandchildren, Lisa Sam Snell, Lauren and Erik Sowers. She is further survived by her sisters and brother: Helen Boe of Iola, Jeannette Anderson of Clintonville, Evelyn Hansen of Wittenberg, and Harold Alice Wolberg of Iola.
