Lynne M. Beverung

Lynne Marie (Broeren) Beverung, 61, was welcomed into her heavenly home on November 29, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Lynne’s unbreakable faith in God and devotion to her family strengthened her throughout this journey and ultimately gave her peace. Lynne was born to Lloyd “James” and Dorothy Broeren in Landstuhl, Germany on May 17, 1953. She was raised in Minocqua, Wisconsin, the oldest of four daughters. From an early age, Lynne had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed swimming, camping, and biking. She had a lifelong love for music and shared this gift through playing the flute and singing in choirs. Lynne met her best friend, soul mate, and future husband Robert “Bob” Beverung at a Minocqua dance at the age of 14. After graduating from Lakeland High School in 1971, Lynne attended the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She was involved in the University Choir. Lynne later went on to earn her Masters in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Lynne possessed a lifelong passion and gift for educating and helping children. She was blessed with a unique ability to connect with children of all ages and use her brilliant smile, kind words, and even the occasional song to make positive impacts on their lives. After starting her career as a classroom teacher at Thorson Elementary School in Cedarburg, WI, she then went on to become a guidance counselor and later building substitute at Decorah Elementary School in West Bend, WI. Lynne’s family was always the center of her world. She and Bob were married on August 23, 1975 in Minocqua, Wisconsin. Their family home was built in 1980 in West Bend, Wisconsin, which is where Lynne and Bob went on to raise two daughters, Molly and Jennifer. In 2000, Lynne, Bob, and the girls began a new adventure when their log cabin was built in West Yellowstone, Montana. This cabin was the foundation of many family memories that included kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing. Lynne valued her role as a mother above all others. She was present at every dance recital and tennis meet and instilled in her daughters her virtues of kindness, compassion, and perseverance. Her love of education was shared with both Molly and Jennifer, who have both become elementary school teachers. In recent years, Lynne became a beloved and cherished grandmother who loved reading to, singing with, and playing with her grandchildren. Lynne was also an active member of the community at Faith Lutheran church in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. She shared her beautiful voice by singing in a praise group and also taught confirmation classes to the youth. Lynne lived her daily life committed to God and others in a way that resonated with all who knew her. Lynne is survived by her husband Bob; daughters Molly (Nicholas) Herdrich, and Jennifer (Erik) Fossum; grandchildren Noah and Sloan Herdrich, her parents Lloyd “James” and Dorothy Broeren, and her three sisters Barbara, Jeanne, and Leslie, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Lynne’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service at Faith Lutheran Church N35 W6621 Wilson Ave Cedarburg, Wisconsin on December 4th at 2:00 pm with a reception for family and friends to follow at Galioto’s Twelve 21, 1221 Wauwatosa Rd.
