He stayed very busy with many different interests and hobbies. His love for the outdoors got him interested in Cub Scouts. He enjoyed going on nature hikes at various state and county parks, and walking with his dad on the Ozaukee Interurban Trail to Cedarburg. Lucas would run up and down where he lived on 5th avenue with his friends Samantha and Henry, and always wanted to go to Centennial Park (“The Big Red Park” as he called it). Other outdoor activities that he loved were playing baseball and basketball. When Lucas wasn’t able to be outside he would play Super-Heroes with his big sister. He also enjoyed building Lego sets, watching TV and Playing Roblox on their Chromebooks. Unlike most kids, Lucas loved school and all of his teachers from Woodview and Grafton Elementary School. He loved reading, some of his favorite books being the Jigsaw Jones Series, Elephant and Piggie, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The most important thing everybody knew about Lucas was that he lived by the Golden Rule. He was always polite and kind to others. Lucas is survived by his parents, Kyle and Lindsay, sister, Leila, grandma, Mary Coppersmith, Grandpa, Randy Carnes, great-grandma Derse, aunts and uncles: Dawn and Scott Rupke, Amanda and Matt Morkved, Tina and Heath Regner, Ashley and Paul Patzfahl, Andy and Crystal Coppersmith and Steve and Erin Coppersmith; Cousins: Mckennah, Connor, Cody, Austin, Hayleigh, Izabella, Maddie, Tommy, Issac, Caleb, Hayden, Cullen, Dillon and Ian. He is further survived by his best friend, Tyler, pet turtle, Touga, many great aunts and uncles, other relatives and friends. Lucas is preceded in death by his grandpa, Ron Coppersmith, grandma, Herbie Carnes and cousin, Cooper Morkved. Throughout Lucas’s journey there were many people who help him.
