Louis W. Scheunemann

Louis W. Scheunemann of Town of Jackson, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family at home on Sunday February 25, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Louis was born in Cedarburg on July 25, 1929 to the late Louis Sr. & Amanda (nee Heidtke) Scheunemann and married Alice (nee Gierach) on November 17, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistadt. Louis spent his whole life dairy and potato farming on the family farm which has been in the Scheunemann family for more than 150 years. He served on church council and as chairman for 26 years at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. He served on the Town of Jackson planning commission and was a supervisor for 20 years. He was chairman of West Bend Consumers Co-op for 8 years and another 10 years as Trustee. He received recognition from the West Bend Kiwanis club for distinguished service to life and welfare of the community through exceptional achievement in agriculture. He also was a member of the United Orchestra Leaders and led the Clover Valley Playmates polka band. Louis is survived by his wife Alice (nee Gierach) of the Town of Jackson, children; Eugene of Jackson, Jeff from the Town of Jackson and Christine (Mark) Flitsch from the Town of Jackson. He is further survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 3, 2 PM at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church 1268 Pleasant Valley Rd. West Bend. Interment at the church cemetery immediately after. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday March 3, from 11 AM until 1:45 PM. Memorials to the church are appreciated.
