Lorraine T. Wegner, of Grafton, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at the Village Pointe Commons, in Grafton, at the age of 92 years. Lorraine was born on May 1, 1927, in Grafton, the daughter of the late Gregory and the late Gertrude (nee Rausch) Barth. She attended Grafton High School and graduated with the class of 1945. Lorraine was united in marriage to the late Walter “Bob” Wegner on November 30, 1946, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Together their marriage was blessed with five children: Michael, Carol, Susan, Patricia, and Daniel. Lorraine was a longtime active member at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Grafton, where she served as the school secretary, she was a member of the church choir for many years, and she also volunteered helping students learn to read. Lorraine also served the Immaculate Conception Parish, in Saukville, working as the parish secretary. Lorraine enjoyed crocheting for her family and friends. There wasn’t one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who didn’t have a crocheted blanket from “Grandma”. Her true love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lorraine is survived by her children, Carol (George) Krueger, Sue (Alan) Melichar, and Patti (Lloyd) Sudbrink, daughters-in-law, Marie Wegner and Kathy Ford, and brother-in-law, Marty (Marlene) Wegner. Her legacy will live on in her 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Walter “Bob” Wegner, two sons, Michael Wegner and Daniel Wegner, granddaughter, Kelly, and brother, Ralph Barth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019, 12:00 PM (Noon) at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Grafton. The visitation will be held on Monday, at the church, from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Lorraine will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Grafton, immediately following the Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Joseph Catholic Choir Fund are appreciated. The family would especially like to thank the Spire Caregivers at Village Pointe Commons for the compassionate care that was given during this difficult time.
