Lorraine M. Best

Lorraine M. Best (Nee Jokela), formerly of Cedarburg, went to Heaven on October 27, 2019, age 91 years. She grew up in northern Wisconsin where she met her husband to be at 12 years old. She married Donald G. Best on October 9, 1948. They had 5 children, Donn (Susan), Richard (Leslie), Mary Best, Lizbeth Best-Gell (Nicholas) and Carolyn (Jack) Kaske. They have 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, soon to be 7. Lorraine has one surviving sister, Pat (Cliff) Garver. She has two sisters-in-law, Carole Krizak and Rita (Eugene) Peplinski. Further survived by other relatives, friends and her special “girls” at Harbor Cove in Port Washington. She was a strong, loving mother who worked hard as a hair dresser in Thiensville. She was an auxiliary legion member of the Howard J. Schroeder American Legion Post #457. Two of her daughters were Poppy Princesses. Her grandsons played football and baseball that kept her and Doc happy and active. She loved watching and yelling at the Green Bay Packers. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Donald “Doc” G. Best, her youngest sister Sharon Franek, her oldest sister Thelma Kapp and her parents. Also waiting in Heaven for her are 2 toy poodles, Peppy and Toby. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday November 8, 2019 at Christ Alone Lutheran Church, 247 S Main St, Thiensville with Pastor Don Scheuerlein officiating. Family and friends are welcome at the church from 10:00am with service to start at 11:00.
