Funeral services for Lorna E. Raess (neeVinkenberg), 93, of Grafton will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 – 1:30 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Grafton. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 12:30 until time of service. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church appreciated. Lorna was born in Nebraska on May 4, 1918 the daughter of the late Herman and Mary Vinkenberg. Lorna was united in marriage on September 2, 1945 in Carlton, Nebraska to the late Raymond F. Raess. Lorna was a cook at St. Paul Lutheran School for many years. Lorna enjoyed the Ozaukee Co. Fair where she won numerous ribbons for entries from her garden. Lorna was a longtime Grafton resident and member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Former resident of Grafton’s Berkshire retirement community. Lorna spent her last years at The Hamburg Home in Grafton, with special thanks to staff for their excellent care. Lorna is survived by her children: Marilyn (William) Ratzburg Jr. Eugene (Gloria) Raess and Thomas (Marti) Raess; grandchildren: Aaron (Kelly) Ratzburg, Nikolaus (Shanna) Ratzburg, Zachary Ratzburg, Lora (Jason) Horn, Matthew (Erika) Raess, Michael Raess, Emily (Jason) Parchim; great grandchildren: Brooke Ratzburg, Brie Ann Ratzburg, Max Ratzburg, Autumn Horn, Gabrielle Horn, Trinity Horn, and Ella Raess; one sister Vera Schardt. Lorna was preceded in death by one grandson Brian Raess; one granddaughter Gretchen Ann Ratzburg; her parents Herman and Mary; brother Vern and dear friend Verla Vetter. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church appreciated
