Lois Lorraine Krantz

Lois Loraine Krantz, born on July 12, 1936, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to the Reverend Walter and Loraine Kleinke, peacefully passed away on February 10, 2024, at the age of 87, to be reunited with her Lord and Savior.

Lois attended Lutheran High School in Milwaukee, WI, Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, and became an elementary schoolteacher at Emmanuel Lutheran School WELS in Flint, Michigan. It was there that she met her beloved husband of 63 years, Harold Krantz. Together, they returned to Wisconsin where they raised their two children. They retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas, where they lived for 30 years. There, they were proud founding members of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church WELS. Recently, they returned to live in Grafton, WI.

Throughout her life, Lois served her Lord by helping others through volunteer work. She first learned to transcribe print into braille to support visually impaired individuals in accessing church materials. Her dedication to braille extended to the challenging task of transcribing music into braille, and she held esteemed positions on the National Braille Association Board of Directors. Lois, alongside her husband, wrote a braille music education book now housed in the Library of Congress.

Lois was so loved by her husband, 2 children, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She also opened her heart and home to many kitties who brought her much joy. She had a deep love for exploring the world through travel. She was a Mensa Member and an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband Harold Krantz, children David Krantz and Linda (Greg) Krantz Chay, grandchildren Amanda and Michael (Shayla) Krantz, Brittany (Brad) Liebner, Christopher Hall, and McKenna Chay. Great-grandchildren Lauren and Chase Krantz, Sophia and Henry Delcid, beloved sister Ruth Woldt (Alfons), and many other family members and friends who meant so much to her.
