Lewis J. Peterson, Jr., Born November 27, 1941, of Grafton, WI, passed away on July 23rd 2021 at age of 79. For those who knew him, after many years of fading health, he passed away peacefully and comfortably in his own home. Lewis is survived by his wife Sue (nee Schmid) of 56yrs, having both attended Messmer High School and meeting while serving as Best man and Bridesmaid for mutual, life-long friends Tom & Jean Surges. Father to Jeffery (Lynn) Peterson, Jennifer (Blake) Norris, and grandfather to Christopher Pagano and Sora Peterson. Brother to Mary (David) Wettlaufer, Kathy (Gary) Lauters, Margie (Dave) Briggs, Carol (Bill) Tessman and Tom (Jeanne) Peterson and their families. He was preceded in death by his loving parent Lewis Peterson Sr., Josephine (Hunt) and beloved younger brother Joe. He is also survived by Sue’s siblings and their families. In life, Lewis worked for the US Postal Service and UW-Milwaukee mail service. He had a particular affinity to handy-work and never met a project or repair he wasn’t willing to tackle. He was also willing to lend a hand to family and friends for whatever project might arise as long as coffee was on hand. It’s also been said he had a unique talent for collecting stuff, occasionally it was even useful. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 12:00 PM (Noon) at St. Joseph Catholic Church (1619 Washington St.), Grafton. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, August 6, 2021, at the church, from 10:30 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to The School of Sisters of Notre Dame Retirement.
