Letha M. Schecher (nee Bintzler), of Grafton, was born into eternal life on May 30, 2023 in Grafton, Wisconsin at the age of 97.


Letha was born on March 26, 1926 to her late parents, Nicholas Bintzler and Thelma Bintzler (nee Pattison). She was joined in marriage to her late beloved husband, Wilmer “Woody” Schecher and together their marriage was blessed with four children, Elizabeth (Tom) Glassner, Mary Murray, William “Bill” (Linda) Schecher and Randy (Ken) Schecher-Bowers.


Letha’s impressive work ethic led her to multiple jobs within her lifetime. She would sew military uniforms to soldiers, she ran the Milwaukee Journal Shack where she took care of coordinating deliveries which soon led to her career working for the Post Office in Grafton as a Sub and she ended her career delivering mail in the rural route. Letha loved to read, play cards, and watch police shows and football. Her one true hobby was being a host for her loving family. When Letha lived out in the country, their family would often play volleyball and do various activities together.


Letha is survived by her three children, Bill, Randy, and Mary; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Owen, Laura, Kimberly, and Michael; three step-grandchildren, Jeff, Laura, and Melissa; four great-grandchildren, Julia, Jordan, Maddie, Nolan, Brayden, Tristin, and Hunter; her sisters, Frances and Effie; brother, Donald (Linda) and son-in-law, Tom. Letha is further survived by family and friends.


Letha is preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilmer “Woody”, her parents, Nicholas and Thelma; daughter; Elizabeth; siblings, LeRoy Bintzler, Gilbert Bintzler, Rita Hamilton, Nicholas Bintzler, and Ronald Bintzler; father-in-law, Nicolas and mother-in-law, Elizabeth. She is further preceded in death by four sister-in-laws, Kathyrn, Alois, Hilda, and Eleanore and brother-in-law, Adam.


There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held for Letha on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton at 2:00 PM. Visitation will start at 1:00 PM till service time. A committal will be held for Letha at Woodlawn Cemetery at 3:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
