Leonard A. Rusch

Leonard Adolph Rusch died at the Kathy Hospice in West Bend on September 15, 2014 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s and related illnesses. Leonard was born on April 12, 1933 to the late John & Laura (nee Gilbert) in the Town of Jackson. He was a life time member of David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church. He farmed for many years during and after the 47 years he worked as a trucker-salesman for Filter Oil Co. in Cedarburg. On February 18, 1979 he married Dorothy (nee Borgschatz). Leonard had great love for his family and cherished the many times spent with them for birthdays and holiday celebrations. He especially looked forward to the annual corn roast he hosted for family and friends. He coached baseball and softball teams for many years. He also enjoyed getting together with friends for sheepshead. He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy (nee Borgschatz) of Jackson, children; Sue (Jerome) DeRuyter of West Bend, Jean Okruhlica of Sussex, Glenn (Ann) of Jackson, Laurie (Michael) Buck of Jackson, Nathan (Krista) of Jackson, & David (Kim) of Mequon. Dear brother of Gladys (Richard) Oestreich of Jackson, & Marvin (Arlene) Rusch of Jackson. He was preceded in death by three infant children, and an infant granddaughter. He is further survived by 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service Friday September 19, 6:30 PM at David’s Star Ev. Lutheran Church 2740 David’s Star Dr. Jackson. Interment church cemetery. Visitation at the church Friday from 3:00 – 6:15 PM. Memorials of your choice appreciated. The family would like to thank the many caregivers he has had through the years, most recently at St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend, Cedar Communities rehabilitation facilities, and especially Krista Rusch who spent many hours caring for him while he was at home.
