Leah E. Wunsch (nee Flynn)
Of Port Washington, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 5, 2024. Leah was born on February 10, 1936 to her late parents, John Flynn and Dellila (nee Schoening). She was united in marriage with Kenneth “Ken” Wunsch on September 17, 1955 and together in their 68 years, they were blessed with five daughters, Laurie (Mark) Altendorf, Linda (Sam) Runkel, Lisa Poole, LeAnn (Dave) Kuehl, Lonne (Mark) Schreiner.
Leah had many hobbies, but her main interests consist of playing bingo, gardening her flowers, bowling, cross stitch, and crocheting. She was an avid reader, you could always find Leah with a book in her hand. Ken and Leah were “winter-texans” where they would escape the cold Wisconsin weather together for 26 years. Leah’s entire family will deeply miss her extraordinary cooking skills.
Leah is survived by her beloved husband, Ken and her five daughters, Laurie, Linda, Lisa, LeAnn, and Lonne. Along with 10 grandchildren, Tami, Mike, Chris, Patrick, Timmy, Stephanie, Tony, Johanna, Moira, and Sophia; great-grandchildren, Lexi, Jazmyn, Mav, Chase, and Ian; one great great-grandchild, Jaymeson; and one sister, May Bess. Leah is further survived by many friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Dellila. Along with a sister and baby brother.
There will be a Celebration of Life held for Leah on Friday, January 12, 2023 at Lepanto Banquet Hall (350 E. Seven Hills Road Port Washington, WI 53074). The visitation will start at 10:00 AM till 11:30 AM. Service will immediately follow the visitation at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Heart Association are appreciated.
