Our beloved mother and wife Kathy Barelmann (nee Mlodzik) was called to her heavenly home on May 1, 2024, surrounded by her children, Kari and Joe, and her husband Jim.
Kathy was born March 23, 1961, in Port Washington, Wisconsin to the late Chester and Georgia Mlodzik. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Borgia, Cedarburg. On October 28, 1989, Kathy married the love of her life, Jim Barelmann.
Kathy was the light in every room, able to fill it with smiles and laughter with her humor, contagious laugh, and quick wit. She was kind, warm, and loved her family dearly. Kathy loved taking walks with her grand-dog, spending time with her family, enjoying time up north, and reading. But most of all, Kathy was a dedicated and caring mother and a loving wife. Her world revolved around her children and, in turn, their significant others. Her courage and strength, especially in the last year, was inspiring to all that knew her.
She was a devoted wife to her loving husband of 34 years, Jim Barelmann. She was the beloved mother to Kari (Jake) Wegner and Joe Barelmann (Stephanie King). She is also survived by her brothers Jan Mlodzik, Chuck (Rosanne) Mlodzik, and Terry Mlodzik, and siblings-in-law Ellen and John Trummer, Bob Barelmann and Linda Buyeske, Tom and Jane Barelmann, Nancy Beck, and Wendy and Dave Wollner. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Georgia Mlodzik, parents-in-law Norbert and Joanne Barelmann, and sister-in-law Cheryl Barelmann.
The family would also like to thank Horizon Hospice for their care and support.
Visitation will take place on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:45 p.m. at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cedarburg. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to First Immanuel Lutheran Church- Audio and Visual Online Worship in Kathy’s name.
