Karl O Dehmel

Karl O. Dehmel, of Grafton, passed away at the Harvest Home Assisted Living Center, on June 1, 2023, at the age of 78 years.

Karl was born on July 22, 1944, in Tuscon, Arizona, the son of the late John Dehmel and the late Ruth (nee Kohlwey) Dehmel. After the family relocated to Grafton, to be closer to family, Karl started working on the family farm at an early age. He would tend to the dairy cattle as well as working the crops for the next 40 years. Upon his retirement from farming, Karl went on to work for Carlson Tool for 10 years, before retiring.

Karl was a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Grafton, where he attended worship regularly. He enjoyed spending time with family, bird watching, and thunderstorms.

Karl is survived by his beloved sister, Liz Dehmel, and nieces and nephews: Robin (Dusty) Mueller, Melissa Konitzer, Kristin Bertrand, Aaron (Jolene) Last, Buffy Jaffke, Susie (Bill) Opitz, and Alex (Shema) Last. He is further survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Karl was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Dehmel, brother, Richard Dehmel, as well as many aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Heaven’s Homecoming will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, 12:00 PM Noon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Grafton. The family will receive friends and relatives prior to the service, at the church, from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Karl will be laid to rest at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, in Grafton. Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Rivers Edge are appreciated.
