Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church, 1193 Lakefield Road, Grafton, at 2pm for Karen Lynn Tetzlaff of Grafton, WI, who passed away early Sunday morning, January 14, 2018 at the age of 66 years. Public visitation at church will be on Saturday from 12:00 (Noon) until 1:45 PM with the service at 2:00 PM. Memorials to the church are appreciated. Karen was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 25, 1951, the daughter of June Grossmeyer and the late Marvin Grossmeyer. She was one of two children. Karen and Randy were married on September 25, 1977 at St. John Lutheran Church in Grafton. They were then blessed with two children, Sarah (Bradley) Mitchell and Daniel (Rosanne) Tetzlaff. Karen was a beautician during her career and a homemaker. Karen and Randy were avid skiers, which is how they first met, through Randy’s sister Marjorie, who also worked with Karen as a beautician. Karen enjoyed traveling with family and friends, most notably skiing, going on cruises, and going up north on summer vacations. She was the proud grandmother to four wonderful grandsons, whom she loved with her whole being. She wanted nothing for herself, but everything for everyone else. Karen is survived by her husband, Randy; her two children, daughter Sarah (Bradley) and their children, Aiden and Kellen; son Daniel (Rosanne) and their children, Elliot and Ephraim; her mother June Grossmeyer; her brother Mark (Barb) Grossmeyer and their children, Kristen and Kyle; her Godmother and aunt, Phyllis Paiser; her aunt LaVerne Teisl, and numerous cousins on her side. Karen is further survived by her mother-in-law Evelyn Tetzlaff, brother-in-law Steve (Dinah) Tetzlaff and their children, Jason and Jeff (Mariana), sister-in-law Jayne (Jim) Wick and their children, Jeremy and Angela (Alan) and Ryan, brother-in-law Mike DeFendi and his children, Michelle (Dan) and Matthew (Annette), and further children on Randy’s side. All were special to her. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Grossmeyer, her aunt Carol Weber, her sister-in-law Marjorie DeFendi, and her father-in-law George Tetzlaff. Karen’s family wishes to thank the ICU nurses, doctors, and staff at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital.
