June Alice Fitzgerald, 88, a long time Grafton resident, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Our mom loved sewing, knitting, gardening, reading, bowling and golfing. She was ahead of her time in fashion and had a natural flair for decorating, had a great laugh, a wonderful sense of humor, a strong faith and loved her heritage. She was always proud of her large family. We have fond memories of our childhood. She always made our holidays and special occasions magical. Her daughter and best friend, Peggy “Sweetpea,” loved her mom very much. Her mom will always be in Peggy’s heart until they meet again. June was born in Milwaukee to the late Willard Harrigan and Minnie Harrigan (Baum). She married Thomas John Fitzgerald on September 13, 1948. They had 10 children; Thomas Jr., Carol (Dennis) Mazza, Peggy, John (Cindy), Barb (Jeff) Smith, Scott (Kris), Kelly (Steve) Heilman, Kerry (Jim) Kelly, Dermot, Nancy (Steve) Morgan. June has 17 grandchildren; Brett, Jackie, Jennifer, Erik, Thomas, Megan, Brian, Jordan, Cameron, Michael, Liam, Natalie, Emily, Alec, Eric, Amy and Mandy. She has 8 great grandchilen; Dylan, Finley, Kaden Rose, Taylor, Celia, Claire, Anthony and Wyatt. June was preceded in death by her husband; Tom, her brother; Willard Harrigan, her sister; Ruth Fonslow, her son-in-law; Michael R. Macleish Sr., her granddaughter; Jennifer Ashley and grandson; Michael R. Macleish Jr. A memorial mass for June Fitzgerald will be held at Saint Francis Borgia North Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Rd, Cedarburg, WI on Thursday, November 3, 2016 – 11:30 AM. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM- 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Portal Industries in Grafton, WI are appreciated. Mom, you were a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. We are all better people for having been blessed with you in our lives. You are gone, but will always be a song in our hearts. We know your blue Irish eyes will always be smiling down upon us. May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face And the rains fall soft upon your fields And until we meet again May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
