Judith M. D'Amato (nee Eickstedt), 72, of Cedarburg, passed away peacefully March 8, 2014 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, WI. Judie fought and won many health battles over the years. She was a strong and determined individual who always turned to her faith. She most certainly earned her wings... Visitation will be held at First Immanuel Lutheran Church - W67N622 Evergreen Blvd, Cedarburg - on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 5:30-6:30pm. with a service to follow at 6:30pm. Judie was born in Cedarburg, Wisconsin to Melvin and Gertrude (nee Jaehnert) Eickstedt on January 26, 1942. She was a 72-year member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church (FIL) and attended grade school at FIL as well. She graduated Cedarburg High School and went on to attend Hillsdale College in Michigan. Judie enjoyed owning and running two restaurants with her late husband, Vincent P. D'Amato. They owned D'Amato's A Little Bit of Sicily for 13 years and Mr. Ribs for 3 years. She then became a manager at the Cedarburg Emissions Station and retired in 2007 to become a full-time grandmother to 4 grandchildren. Judie was fun-loving person and enjoyed making people laugh. She loved cooking, gardening, caring for all of her pets, reminiscing about all of the travels and adventures in her life and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Judie is survived by her children; Nicole (Tim) Setzer, Maria (Mike) Harris; grandchildren: Amber, Allana and Audyn Setzer and Angelina Harris. Further survived by nieces and family in Pennsylvania, other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Vincent P. D'Amato; her parents, Gertrude and Melvin Eickstedt and her brothers, Thomas and Robert Eickstedt. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to caring pastors of First Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dr. Patrick R. Marsho, MD and the St. Nicholas Hospital Staff and Hospice for their support in her final days.
