Judith B. Schultz

Judith B. Schultz, 73 Judith died on Friday, March 13th at Ascension Hospital in Milwaukee after a prolonged battle with dementia and related illnesses. She was born in Milwaukee on January 22, 1947 the daughter of Kenneth and Sylvia (nee Weidemeier) Luhm. She attended school in Milwaukee and graduated from Rufus King High School. She then enrolled at UW-Stout and graduated with degrees in Home Economics and Education. In 1971 she married Dennis Schultz, her husband of nearly forty-nine years. They were both active in the education program of Memorial Lutheran in Glendale. It was there that they met and were married. Their family grew to include twin sons and a daughter. She taught at Sheboygan North High School for three years until the birth of their twin sons at which time she devoted several years to the challenges of motherhood. It was at that time she and her family moved to Cedarburg. Judy was a skilled sewer and made many articles of clothing for her family and herself. Soon she found time to teach evening classes in sewing at Milwaukee Area Technical College in Mequon for several years. During that she also found time to be active in a group termed Mothers of Multiples and served as its president. Then an opportunity occurred for her to assume the role of Church Secretary of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. She stayed in that role for over twenty years overseeing much change and learning about and applying the many changes in technology that were occurring during that period. Judy also loved to bake and could always be relied upon to make delicious desserts for church gatherings, extended family events, and especially for her own family. She is survived by her husband Dennis, her sons Eric (Jenny) of Milwaukee (sons Beckett and Anderson), and Chad (Jessica) of Menomonee Falls (twins Lukas and Zachary), and her daughter Beth (Tyler) Schultz Byrnes and their children Eleanor, Alex and Thomas. She will be remembered by her grandchildren as someone who always found toys and games for them, someone who would drive them to where they needed or wanted to go, even if she often had to find new routes and new locations. She always had time to read to them and she fully enjoyed their antics as they grew up. Family private funeral services will be held in July and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Memorial Lutheran Church in Glendale. Memorials may be directed to Memorial Lutheran Church or to the Wisconsin Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Mueller Funeral Home of Cedarburg are handling the arrangements.
