Joyce E. Mooney,

Peacefully passed away on October 4, 2023 at the age of 92. Joyce was born on July 19, 1931 in New Holstein, WI to her late parents, Ervin “Spec” Leon and Antonia Leon (nee Mertes). Joyce was united in marriage with the late Clifford “Kip” Mooney, and together their marriage was blessed with three boys, Stuart, Scott, and the late Kevin.

Because of Joyce’s incredible work ethic, she found herself working for Levy & Levy Attorneys in Cedarburg for over 45 years. She was Don Levy’s legal assistant and handled duties as an office manager, working full-time until she was 78. In addition to working full time, Joyce was an amazing mother, raising her three boys. Joyce loved her job and everyone she worked with. Joyce also loved the city of Cedarburg, where she actively was involved with the Cedarburg Historical Society. Joyce and her husband, Kip, enjoyed spending time with their family, friends, and neighbors. They both found joy participating in their monthly bridge club and playing a good game of cribbage after work. Joyce was very passionate about playing scrabble and her sons always had to have a game, or three, with her when visiting. She enjoyed gardening, shopping with her best friend, Diane, and traveling, including her trips to Las Vegas and Italy.

Joyce is survived by her two sons, Stuart (Kacy) Mooney and Scott Mooney. Along with her beloved grandchildren, Colleen (Scott’s child), Kate Lauer and Christopher Mooney (Kevin’s children), and Garret and Griffin Mooney (Stu’s children). She is further survived by great grandchildren, Jack Roman Lauer and Liam Kevin Lauer, and further friends and family.

Joyce is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford, parents, sister, Lynn Jones, and her oldest son, Kevin.

There will be a funeral service held for Joyce at Mueller Funeral Home (979 N Green Bay Road, Grafton, WI 53024) on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2:00 PM. A visitation will start at 12:00 PM until service time. A burial for Joyce will take place immediately following the service at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery in Mequon.
