Joy A. Uhlig (nee Bretschneider), October 16, 2016, age 71 years. Beloved wife of Robert Uhlig of Grafton for 43 years. Cherished mother of Gina (Michael) Daiter of Milwaukee. Loving grandmother of Matthew Daiter of Milwaukee. Dear sister of Carol King of Newburg. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joy was preceded in death by her parents Oswald and Bennedetta Bretschneider, brothers Lee and Roger Bretschneider, and brother-in-law Wayne King. Joy had a bubbly personality and enjoyed talking with everybody. Joy enjoyed doing embroidery, volunteering on election day voting, working at daycare with “her kids”, acting as a second Mom for many friends, and calling her friends and relatives on their birthdays and anniversaries. She enjoyed traveling thru-out the Western US, Hawaii and Western Canada. Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 20, 1:30 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church 701 Washington St. Grafton. Interment Immauel Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 11:30 AM until 1:15 PM. Memorials to the church appreciated. We would like to thank Cedar Springs Rehab., Cedarburg, Heritage Nursing & Rehab., Port Washington, Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital and Horizon Hospice, Mequon, for their service in caring for Joy.
