Joy Ann (nee Johnson) Leamon, 68, entered glory with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 16, 2019. She departed peacefully from this world at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon one month after being diagnosed with metastatic cancer. Joy was born in Green Bay, WI on August 13, 1950 to Henry (Hank) and Doris (nee Doeren) Johnson. She lived in DePere until 1967 when her family moved to Thiensville, WI, and she graduated from Homestead High School in Mequon. After a brief marriage to Charles Leamon and the birth of their daughter Aimee, Joy embarked on a varied career in the restaurant, interior decorating and sales industries, consistently achieving top salesperson at Hub North where she sold cars for many years. Although she faced many struggles and hardships throughout her life, Joy loved Jesus and was always prepared to give an answer for the hope she had. She also loved music, movies, reading, shopping, and art, and she was a talented artist, singer, writer, and cook. She made the best crispy grilled cheese sandwiches! Joy cherished her family and delighted in the time she spent with her grandchildren. These were a few of Joy’s favorite things: singing along and dancing to the music of Neil Diamond, Carly Simon, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Linda Ronstadt, and all kinds of praise and worship music; the artwork of Gustav Klimt, Vincent van Gogh, and Claude Monet; Susan Hayward movies and classic musicals like The Sound of Music; the fragrant beauty of gardenias; drinking triple red eye espressos with hazelnut flavoring and eating salads, scalloped potatoes and ham, Jolly Ranchers, ice cream, and yogurt; making snow angels, rolling down grassy hills, and taking long walks; talking on the phone for hours; meticulously manicuring her nails; and listening to great preaching. Joy is survived by her daughter, Aimee Mae (David) Wiley of Cedarburg, WI; mother Doris Eutizzi of Cary, NC; grandchildren Judah Alexander, Phinehas David, Elijah Thomas, Autumn Joy, and Skyler Grace Wiley; siblings Linda (nee Johnson) Williams of Mequon, WI, John (Sandi) Johnson of Apex, NC, Julie (Peter) Durand of Cary, NC, and sister-in-law Susan Eutizzi of Waukesha, WI; beloved godson and nephew Vincent Durand, and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her father Henry, step-father Vincent Eutizzi, sister Constance “Connie” (nee Johnson) Knox, and brother James Eutizzi, Joy will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her best. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28th at 5:00 pm at Alliance Bible Church, 13939 N. Cedarburg Rd., Mequon, WI, with visitation beginning at 4:00 pm. Mueller Funeral Home is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on Joy’s behalf to Lawlis Family Hospice or the American Cancer Society of Wisconsin.
