Joseph (Joe) Hayostek

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church South, Cedarburg, at 1PM for Joseph Joe Hayostek who passed away peacefully on June 22, 2010, at the age of 91 years. Visitation will be held at the church from 12Noon until the time of the Mass. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Joe was born in Crystal Falls, MI on March 15, 1919, to the late Joseph and Stella (nee Archosky) Hayostek. He was a champion tennis player for Crystal Falls High School. Joe met Bernice Sommers at an ice skating rink on Bradford Beach in 1938. They were later married on August 29, 1942, at Holy Rosary Church in Milwaukee. They recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. Joe served his country during WWII in the Army where he was a field artilleryman in the South Pacific for 3 years. Upon returning to the states, he worked for Wisconsin Telephone Co. where he retired after 36 years. Joe liked to golf, bowl and sing, especially in church. He was a devoted family man and was a scout leader and little league coach for his childrens teams. Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Bernice; his loving children Jim (Donna) Hayostek of Naperville IL, Wayne (Judy) Hayostek of Kewaskum, and Sharon Hayostek of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren Nicole Hayostek of Aurora IL, Damon Fisch of Bolingbrook IL, Lori (Armando) Arteaga of Channahon IL, Sylvia (Thorsten) Hayostek of Kewaskum and Thomas Hayostek of Germany; great-grandchildren Nicole, Nadine, Armando Jr., Taylen and Evan; and great-great-grandson Mason. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his sister Caroline (John) Kaufman and his brother Tom (Dorothy) Haynes. Memorials: Memorials of your choice appreciated.
