Joseph Joe Dorfler of Cedarburg passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday December 22, 2009 at the age of 77 years. Joe was born in Sagola, MI on December 19, 1932 to the late Anton & June (nee Cootware) Dorfler and married Dorothy (nee Schultz) on June 20, 1953 in Iron Mountain, MI. Joe served his Country during the Korean War and was a member of the local Legion Post. He retired after 35 years from Evinrude Motors as a Supervisor in 1987. He and Dorothy also operated concessions at Mee-Kwon Golf Course for 26 years. Joe loved retirement and spending time with his grandchildren and watching sports. He was a long time member of First Immanuel Lutheran, Cedarburg. Joe is survived by his wife Dorothy of Cedarburg, children; Mark (Darlene) of Cedarburg, Kurt (Jill) of Sun Prairie, & Craig (Karen) of Cedarburg, son-in-law Thomas Palmer of Galion, OH grandchildren; Judson & Caroline Palmer of Galion, OH, Shawna (Steve) Krier of Port Washington, Matthew & Jessica Dorfler of Cedarburg, Kyle & Jenna Dorfler of Sun Prairie, Alyssa, Jacob & Joseph Dorfler of Cedarburg, great grandchildren Lauren & Ella Krier of Port Washington. He is further survived by 4 sisters & 1 brother, other relatives and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his daughter Lori Palmer and a brother. Memorials to First Immanuel Lutheran Cedarburg are appreciated. There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
