It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Jon Hanschke, a devoted husband, loving father, faithful servant of God, and pillar of strength to all who knew him. Jon was called home to Heaven on March 13th, 2025, surrounded by his cherished family.
Born on December 22nd, 1952, in Milwaukee, WI, Jon lived a life guided by his unwavering faith, kindness and love for others. He was a man of integrity and great character, always ready with a helping hand, a warm smile, and words of wisdom. Jon never took himself too seriously, finding joy in life’s simple moments and laughter in every day.
Above all, Jon was the best husband and father anyone could ask for. He adored his wife, Deborah, his children, Christina, Timothy (Claire), and Anneliese (Tyler), and his grandchildren, Payton, Rowan, Lakeland and Dawson, leading them with love, wisdom, and a deep-rooted faith in God. He was their biggest supporter, their source of strength, and their greatest blessing. His love was steadfast, his guidance unwavering, and his presence irreplaceable.
Jon was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brookfield, where he found joy in worship, fellowship, and serving others. His devotion to God shaped every aspect of his life, and he lived as an example of Christ’s love, touching countless lives with his generosity and warmth.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 4:00 PM, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 13445 Hampton Road, Brookfield. A visitation will take place, on Friday, at the church, from 1:00 PM until 3:45 PM. Interment on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Concordia University – Nebraska are appreciated.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Jon now rests in the presence of his Savior. His love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.
