Jon E. La Pointe

Jon Edward La Pointe of Cedarburg, died peacefully at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa on January 25, 2018 at the age of 76. Jon was born in West Allis, WI on February 13th 1941 to the late Joseph and Mabel (Nee Carlson) LaPointe and at a later date moved to Mequon. He had three brothers: “JP”, Jimmy, and Jeff; all who preceded him in death. Jon graduated from Cedarburg High school where he enjoyed playing football. After a short stint in the Army National Guard, he graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a B.A. Degree in Geography and Economics. Jon was united in married to Dorothy (Nee Metzger) and spent 48 wonderful years together. They had one daughter Julie, whom he was proud of her artistic talent. Jon worked for Oster for 21 years and later owned his own business as a manufacturing sales representative until retirement. Jon was a former member of the Cedarburg Lions Club. He enjoyed golfing at Mee-Kwon and Hawthorne Hills; playing Sheepshead, reading Clive Cussler Books, fishing and deer hunting with his brother in Crandon. Jon is survived by his wife Dorothy; Daughter, Julie (David) Werner; 2 beautiful granddaughters: Dani, and Sophie who he enjoyed spending time with; sister-in-law Diana La Pointe. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 – 1:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg. Interment St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM – 12:45 PM. Memorials to Aurora Zilber Family Hospice or the American Cancer Society appreciated. Jon courageously battled cancer until the very end. He will be missed but remembered fondly of by loved ones.
