John W. Meisnest

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today Monday June 14, 2004 – 10:00 AM at St. Francis Borgia South Catholic Church for John W. Meisnest, 80, who died on June 9, 2004 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospice, Milwaukee. Visitation was at Mueller Funeral Home, Cedarburg on Sunday June 13, 4-7 PM. Interment will be at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery. Fr. Tom Eichenberger officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice appreciated. John was born in Manitowoc, WI on December 10, 1923 the son of the late Walter and Viola nee Zipperer Meisnest. John married Florence Schumacher on January 6, 1946 at St. Francis Borgia South Catholic Church. John and Florence owned and operated Phil’s Bar & Restaurant in Cedarburg for 25 yrs. He then served as a chef at numerous restraunts including Barth’s at the Bridge and Klug’s Creekside Inn. John served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivor’s Inc. John commissioned a submarine in Manitowoc, WI. John was a member of the Cedarburg American Legion Peter Wollner Post for over 50 years, American Trapshooting Association, Life long member of Waukesha Gun Club and Lakeview Gun Club. John is survived by his wife Florence; stepsisters Marge Weinich and Audrey Huiras. John was preceded in death by an infant son John and his sister Violet Bertschinger.
