John C. Grosklaus

John C. Grosklaus of Grafton, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 8, 2016 at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee Hospital at the age of 74 years. John was born in Grafton, WI on September 17, 1942 to the late Harvey and Loretta (nee Dickmann) Grosklaus and married Carol (nee Werner) on June 6, 1992 at Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. John was so proud of his family and many friends. John loved hosting parties, ranging from Super Bowl parties at the Grafton Bowl, Christmas Eve and the Bike Race at home, or any other reason to gather with family and friends. Carol’s delicious cooking, such as, Hollywood potatoes, barbecued ribs, baked beans, Italian sausages were some of his favorites and always drew a large crowd! He also always enjoyed keeping in touch with old friends by going out for breakfast at the Truck Stop in Saukville. He loved his collector cars, including his ’38 Ford Deluxe, ’72 Oldsmobile 98 and ’57 Cadillac Seville, to name a few. Going to car shows and Wayne’s Drive-in were always a time of joy. John’s love of his dogs was unsurpassed. He dearly missed Lance, Lance (the second), Timber, and Reggie. Sammy sorely misses laying on John’s lap to look out the window while getting a good scratch. John was a dedicated and active member of the community, too. He owned the Grafton Bowl for many years and he was a member of the Ozaukee County Board for 20 years. John’s endless snarky comments kept many people in stitches. His sense of humor and ability to love was unmatched. Remember John with love and a smile as he would not want it any other way. John is survived by his wife Carol of Grafton, children; Jay (Amy) Grosklaus of Grafton and Paul (Carol) Barth of DeForest, WI, step-children Dave (the late Jan) Schanen, & Judy Stern of Portland, OR. He is further survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday December 13, 4:30 PM at the Mueller Funeral Home & Grafton 979 N. Green Bay Rd. Grafton. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 – 4:15 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials of your choice appreciated.
