Jenifer L. Tetley, 51, of Grafton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
She was born to her parents on April 28, 1973, in Sterling, IL. Jenifer’s life was marked by both challenges and resilience. As a teenager, she attended Alexander Hamilton High School, though she often found herself drawn away from traditional education. Later in life she earned her GED, determined to improve herself.
In her youth, Jenifer briefly played T-ball but was more focused on spending time with friends and family. At 17, she became a mother to her first daughter, Ashly, in 1990. This early responsibility shaped much of her young adulthood, as she devoted her time to her husband Ron and her growing family.
Jenifer had a passion for working with the public, finding joy in her roles as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and waitress. She particularly enjoyed her time at Winning Wheels in Prophetstown, where she provided comprehensive rehabilitative services to young adults. Her outgoing nature and love for social interaction made her excel in these positions.
The family’s journey took them through Colorado and Illinois before they planted roots in Wisconsin in 1999, shortly after the birth of her younger daughter, Kurstie, in 1997. Despite facing health challenges as an adult that led to a period of separation from her family, Jenifer made efforts in recent years to mend relationships and reconnect with her daughters. Jenifer was a proud grandmother, often speaking lovingly about her grandchildren. Her affection extended to her pets as well, considering her cats as additional grandchildren. Many will remember her energetic dog, Monster, a spirited Jackapoo that was a significant part of her life.
Known for her love of music, especially songs that evoked passion, Jenifer also had an affinity for peace signs and artificial flowers. Her daughters, who have shown remarkable strength, are a testament to Jenifer’s vibrant, albeit sometimes turbulent, lifestyle.
Those who knew Jenifer will remember her fondly for her unique farewell phrase, “Peace, love, and chicken grease.” Her untimely passing at 51 leaves behind many unwritten memories, but her spirit and the impact she had on those around her will not be forgotten.
She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew her and the memories that remain uncreated will forever stand as a poignant reminder of what could have been, shaping her legacy in the hearts of those who loved her.
Those Jenifer leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Ronald Tetley; her mother, Linda Hedstrom; her two daughters, Ashly (Mitchel) Pals and Kurstie Tetley; six grandchildren, Marley Wescott, Melody Pals, Abel Pals, Scarlet Pals, Harper Pals, and Nova Kirsch; sister-in-law, Michelle Tetley; brother-in-law, Phil Bowdish; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jenifer is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Robert Tetley and her sister-in-law, Carrie Bowdish.
Private family services in remembrance of Jenifer will be held.
