Jeffrey P. Petersen II Jeffrey found peace on August 17, 2022, at the age of 34. Jeffrey was born on August 29, 1987, in Milwaukee, WI, and grew up in Grafton, WI. He graduated from Grafton High School, class of 2006. Following high school, he entered the automotive repair industry before finding his calling as a commercial truck driver. On June 8, 2019, Jeffrey and Samantha Irwin welcomed their daughter Amara Rai Petersen into the world. Jeffrey was an avid outdoorsman who found comfort when surrounded by nature. He would often spend days fishing, hunting, or simply photographing nature. Similarly, his passion for cars and automotive repair gave him an outlet for his considerable talents. His greatest joy in life was his daughter Amara. He never had a bigger smile than when he would spend time with Amara, whether it was playing video games together or painting each other's toes. Jeffrey had a jovial, caring nature that always managed to make people smile. Jeffrey’s honesty and straightforward nature made him well respected by loved ones. His big personality and infectious laugh touched the lives of all who knew him. Jeffrey always had a joke or smile waiting for everyone. Jeffrey was satisfied with the simple pleasures in life. He will be greatly missed by his deeply saddened family and friends. Jeffrey is survived by his daughter Amara Petersen, who he saw as his greatest accomplishment and source of joy. He is further survived by Amara’s mother and longtime partner Samantha Irwin; mother Christine (Jeffrey) Dekanich; brothers Darrin (Valerie) Petersen, Seger (Melissa) Petersen; grandparents Dennis and Lois Strelecki, Barbara Petersen; uncle Scott Petersen; aunts Dawn (Joe) Gilbertson, Michelle (Scot) Fatla; cousins Patrick (Christina) Gilbertson, Matthew (Nikia) Gilbertson, Nick Fatla, Isabelle Fatla. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his infant uncle David Petersen; infant brother Paul Petersen; grandfather, William Petersen; father, Jeffrey Petersen. A celebration of Jeffrey’s life will be held in the Robert Zaun Pavilion located at Lime Kiln Park in Grafton, WI on Friday, August 26, 2022. Visitation will be held 3:00pm to 5:00pm, followed by a time for sharing stories and favorite memories of Jeffrey, in accordance with his wishes. Guests are encouraged to wear his favorite color cobalt blue. In lieu of flowers, memorials in support of Amara are appreciated.
