Jeannette Ruth Meunier

Jeannette Ruth Meunier (Fredrich), loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully September 20, 2017 at the age of 74 after an extended battle with Parkinson's Disease, stroke, and complications of Alzheimer's Disease. Jeannette was born in St Joseph’s Community Hospital, West Bend, Wisconsin March 10, 1943, and was the 2nd daughter of seven girls born to Gordon and Ruth (Meyer) Fredrich. She was baptized at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Wayne, Wisconsin on March 28 1943. She was confirmed on April 4, 1957, at St Paul Lutheran Church, in Grafton, WI. She met her lifetime love and husband Chuck during homecoming at UW Madison; the two were inseparable for the majority of their lives. They were married at St Paul Lutheran Church on June 20, 1964, and had 53 joyful years of marriage together. Jeannette attended school at St. Paul Lutheran School and Grafton High School graduating in 1961. She received her X-ray Certification from Milwaukee Lutheran Hospital in 1963, and began work at St. Alphonsus Hospital (later Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee) in Port Washington. She continued working at Columbia St. Mary’s after their relocation to Mequon. She advanced to Director of Testing and Treatment, and was involved with the design of the Medical Imaging Department during the construction of the Mequon campus. Jeannette retired from St. Mary’s in 2008. Jeannette also co-owned and managed the A&W restaurant in Cedarburg with her husband, her sister Shirley and her husband Dave (Bonomo) in the 1970s. God blessed Jeannette with a Servant’s Heart. She was active in the community and her church, St Paul Lutheran. She and Chuck especially enjoyed caring for toddlers in the St. Paul MOPS program, and she was instrumental in setting up a free health clinic at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee. Jeannette enjoyed summers at Cool-Sha-Nagh on Enterprise Lake and Medicine Lake. Upon retirement, she and Chuck spent winters in Bonita Springs, Florida. Jeannette always enjoyed the company of her friends and family, and particularly loved large gatherings “up north” and during the holidays. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren and enjoyed watching soccer and basketball games, playground times (both outside and in the basement), watching dancing and singing performances, and enjoying quiet times with her precious three grandchildren. Grammy was always there for them. Jeannette is survived by her husband Chuck, their daughter Mica (Thomas) Lawrence, son Andrew Meunier and three grandchildren, Charlie and Grayson Lawrence and Annabelle Meunier. Jeannette is also survived by six sisters, Lois (Al) Giese, Shirley (Dave) Bonomo, Audrey Fredrich, Teri Fredrich, Carol Babicky and Beth (Randy) Martin, and many cherished nieces and nephews and many extended members of her family. She is further survived by many friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and love. Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Ruth Fredrich and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Jules (Shorty) and Myrtle Meunier, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family of Jeannette would like to thank the staff at Horizon Hospice and The Creste at Village Pointe Commons for their loving care of Jeannette and our family during her final days of life. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 – 5:30 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM – 5:15 PM. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.
