On Tuesday, February 16, 2016, Jean Maurice George Etienne David, found peace while surrounded by his loving family, following his battle with kidney disease. Jean was born on April 28, 1942, in Morsang sur Orge, France. He was christened on October 18, 1942, at St. John the Baptiste Diociesede Versilles. Jean celebrated his first communion in Munich, Germany, and was later confirmed in his faith at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jean overcame several obstacles throughout his life. As a toddler, he was falsely sent from France to a Nazi Work Camp, because of his last name, with his mother and sister, in Neresheim, Germany. In grave health, following his release, he was graciously raised by his sister, Laurette and her husband, Carl moving from army base to base, in Germany, as well as the United States. He later graduated from Ayre High School, Massachusetts, in 1961, and attended M.S.O.E. and later received his degree from M.A.T.C. in electrical engineering. Jean was united in marriage to Betty E. Ewert, on July 22, 1967. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Laura, Daniel, and Matthew. Jean often worked two jobs at a time throughout his adult life, including Johnson Controls, Harnischfeger, Wisconsin Electric, Time Warner, and McKay Nursery. His many passions included wood carving, football, general handyman, as well as his 7 grandchildren and his dogs. Jean was preceded in death by his mother, Helene (nee Bezon) Stein and his father, Andre Maurice David. As a hardworking and dedicated father, he leaves behind his wife, Betty; 3 children, Laura (Daniel) Jarvis, Daniel (Kimberly) David, and Matthew David; 7 grandchildren, Catrina Daute, Andre David, Emma David, Olivia David, Carsten Jarvis, Sierra Jarvis, and Kayla Polinske; and well as 1 great-grandchild, Paisley Dorzok.Further survived by 4 sisters; Laurette Eady of Palm Coast, FL. , Dominique, Martine, Catherine, as well as 2 brothers; Philippe and Alian all living in France. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016, 6PM at St. John Lutheran Church (1193 Lakefield Rd.), Grafton, with the Rev. James O’Reilly-Christensen presiding. A visitation will take place on Monday, at the church, from 4:30PM until the time of service. Jean will be laid to rest at Oakhill Cemetery, in Horicon.
