Jean C. Grittner

Jean C. Grittner, 85, formerly of Chilton and Madison, passed away January 25, 2007 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon, WI with family at her side. Jean was born August 2, 1921 to Gladys and Emery Schmidt in the town of Wolf River. She married Victor L. Grittner on May 10, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1988. Vic and Jean operated Grittner’s Meat Market in Chilton for over 30 years. Jean is survived by her children, Paul Priscilla Grittner, Plover, WI; Chris Bill Nagle, Wausau, WI; David Nancy Grittner, Milwaukee, WI; and Nancy Lance Cooley, Middle Island, NY, and eight grandchildren, Paul Melinda Grittner, Tim Grittner, Joel Angela Nagle, Mark Anna Nagle, Michael and Nicholas Grittner and Olivia and Victoria Cooley. She is also survived by her sister Betty Jim Pfeffer and nieces and nephews. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
