Jayne C. Pretty

Jayne C. Pretty, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on January 18, 2025, at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee Hospital. Born on February 11, 1950, in the town of Stanley, Wisconsin, Jayne graced this world with her kindness and welcoming spirit for nearly 75 wonderful years.

 Throughout her life, Jayne personified warmth and humor, always making those around her feel at ease. She touched the lives of many, bringing a genuine smile to everyone who crossed her path. Jayne's heart was fullest when she spent time with her family, particularly her grandchildren Ryker and Micah, who brought her immense joy and pride. She found delight in creating cherished memories with them, whether it was a family trip to Door County, enjoying pizza outings, or sharing laughter during family gatherings.

 An active member of her community, Jayne was devoted to her women's group at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton, WI. She had a love for the outdoors, enjoyed reading, visiting coffee shops in the area and keeping up with close friends. 

 Jayne is survived by her loving husband, Thomas James Pretty with whom she would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in March, and their daughter, Britta (Thane) Nelson. She leaves behind a legacy enriched by her cherished relationships with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

 Preceding her in death were her father, James Gilberts, and her mother, Jean Peterson, who welcomed their daughter into the embrace of eternal peace. Her joyous laughter, kind-hearted nature, and the countless memories she created will forever linger in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.

 A small private service will be held with immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Ozaukee Humane Society or the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
