Jay Franklin Jorgensen, 82, of Grafton, WI., passed away peacefully on June 23rd, 2024. Jay poured his whole heart into his wonderfully lived life. He embraced and enthusiastically excelled in his roles as husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Throughout Jay’s life, he was surrounded by THE BEST circle of friends whom he cherished. Jay had a long, successful career as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M.). The Association of Energy Engineers awarded Jay with Environmental Educator of the year: an honor acknowledging his passion for and dedication to his craft. Jay was a proud veteran and a true patriot. He served as Commander of the Alonzo Cudworth American Legion Post No. 23 and was currently a member of the Rose-Harms American Legion Post No. 355. Jay was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. He and his wife are forever grateful to both Pastor Anderson and Pastor Schultz for the spiritual comfort they provided to Jay.


Jay is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Eunice Jorgensen and by his dearest grandson J. Michael Luedtke. Jay is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Jan Jorgensen; daughters Elizabeth Luedtke (James) and Andrea Bowen (Michael); grandchildren Jamie Murray (Andy), Elizabeth Cornelius (Hunter), Maria and Ceci Bowen, Brittany Dean (Tony); great-grandchildren Norah and Dean Murray, Emerson Mahler, Bentley Luedtke, Forrest Cornelius, Nolan and Carlin Marquez.


A private, family graveside ceremony will be held.
