Janice Helen Dietrich

Janice Helen “Granny” Dietrich (nee Henke) of Grafton passed away peacefully on Saturday October 20, 2018 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon at the age of 80 years. Janice was born in Mequon, WI to the late Walter & Marie (nee Plier) Henke and married the late Edwin Jr. “Dietz” on February 11, 1956 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Thiensville. Janice was a daycare provider for over 40 years and known by all as granny. Janice’s greatest joy in life was to simply watch children play and be happy. Janice and Edwin loved to travel especially to Branson, and Disney World which by far was her favorite destination. They also spent many years in the Cedarburg/Grafton camping cousins. She also had a amazing gift of giving, she loved baking for church functions and preparing her wonderful lasagna for St. Ben’s. Janice in survived by her children; Tammy (Todd) Shaver of Adell, Jo Ann (Ken) Zirtzlaff of Door Co., & Debra (Sam) Fluhr of Grafton, grandchildren; Jenifer (special friend Rob Bedelis) Dietrich, Travis (Deanna) Shaver, Dylan (Kelly) Shaver & Mariah Shaver, great grandchildren; Julia (Phil) Shierk,Madalyn (Dean) Schroepfer & Walter Shaver, great great grandchild; Ellie Janice Shierk, brothers; Ronald (Pat) Henke & Roger (the late Marlene) Henke, sisters; Marilyn (Jim) Bria & Kathy (Jim) Gardipee. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday October 25, 5 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1619 Washington St. Grafton. Interment church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 2:30 – 4:45 PM. Memorials to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or St. Judes appreciated. A special thanks to St. Joseph Eucharistic Visiting Ministries for the years of support to Janice on Sunday mornings.
