Jim was born on June 19, 1947, in Milwaukee, to the late Gustav and the late Ruth (nee Staal) Menzel. He graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1965, and served his country in the United States Army shortly thereafter. Jim was given an honorable discharge in October of 1969. On May 5, 1978, Jim married Deborah (nee Check) in Milwaukee. Jim worked for over 30 years at the All-Star Lanes in Milwaukee, as well as Edgewater Golf Club in Grafton. He was an avid golfer and loved to hit the links any chance he could get. Some of Jim’s favorite memories were either on the golf course, fishing at White Sand Lake, or just spending time with his family. Jim is survived by his wife, Deborah Menzel, children; Grant Farago, Marc Farago, and Kimberly Menzel, grandchild, Grayson Farago, and siblings; Gary (Marianne) Menzel, Tom (Dale) Menzel, and Sue (Alton) Le Ray. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The family would like to personally thank Anna Lisa at the Horizon Hospice in Mequon, as well as the rest of the staff at Horizon Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
