Private family services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Grafton for Jackson resident James “Jim” R. Lathrop who died Monday April 12, 2021 from natural causes at the age of 92 years. Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Jason Sikorski Scholarship Fund c/o Zion Lutheran Church/School 3866 Harvester Road St. Charles, MO 63304. Jim was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 15, 1928, the son of the late Floyd and Freida (nee Stein) Lathrop. He enlisted in the Navy in 1946 until his honorable discharge in 1949. He was united in marriage on September 28, 1957 to Marlene Rabe at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Suring, Wisconsin. They were blessed with 2 children. Jim had many hobbies like playing sheepshead, watching the Packers and other sports, fishing, hunting but his best time was playing golf. He was a firefighter in Milwaukee for 33 years. Jim was a very faithful man. Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marlene, children Michael (Cathy) Lathrop and Laurie (Todd) Sikorski, grandchildren Samantha (David) Nieman, Grace (Grant) Siekman, the late Jason Sikorski, and Emily (Remington) Knight, great-grandchildren Torger and Alric Nieman and Finley Jay Knight, brother Thomas (Janet) Lathrop, brother-in-law John "Jack" (BJ) Rabe, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandson Jason Sikorski and brothers Jack (the late Angela) Lathrop and Floyd Lathrop.
