James H. Castle, 71, passed away January 10, 2014. He was born February 13, 1942 in Madison Wisconsin to James B. and Anastasia (Johnson) Castle. Following his graduation from Edgewood High School in Madison, he attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio where he joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and was awarded a degree in business administration in 1965. A lifelong Badger fan, he first met his future wife Sally on a train to the 1960 Rose Bowl. They reconnected in Madison several years later, and were married August 3rd 1968. He became a Certified Public Accountant, and in 1976 moved to Cedarburg with his young family, where a few years later he began his accounting practice, which he continued until his retirement. He was involved in numerous civic and charitable organizations, including serving as president of the Cedarburg Lions Club, treasurer of Cedarburg-Grafton Rotary, and on the board of directors of the Cedarburg Performing Arts Center and the Cedarburg Foundation. Jim had many interests, including sports, reading, cards, history, movies, travel, and investing. He was a runner, and played tennis and golf. He was a Badger football season ticket holder for many years, and looked forward to going back to Madison in the fall. In addition to traveling to many Badger bowl games, he enjoyed trips to Europe, Asia, and within the U.S., including visiting his children. He is survived by his wife Sally Ann (Sennett), sister Nancy Taussig and her husband Peter of Berkeley California, son James B. (Jay) Castle and his wife Amie Zemlicka of Oakland California, daughter Julie (Castle) Payne and her husband Randy and grandchildren Liam and Fiona of Skokie Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the aforementioned civic and charitable organizations to which Jim devoted many years of his life. A Celebration of Life open-house will be held on February 8th from 4-8pm at West Bend Country Club, 5858 Highway Z, West Bend, Wisconsin.
