Jack C. Lidbetter peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on August, 18, 2022 at the age of 73 in Port Washington at the Harbor Campus.
Jack was born on May 20, 1949 to his late parents, Ward Lidbetter and Virginia (nee Crowell) Lidbetter in Rockford, Illinois. After establishing his career in real estate and growing his family, he moved to Lake Geneva in 1992. He then became a Grafton resident in 2016. Jack was a long-time football player throughout high school and college, where his talents led him into making tryouts for the Chargers, unfortunately, Jack suffered a knee injury which changed his career path into Real Estate where he eventually started his own appraising company.
Jack loved spending his time golfing in Lake Geneva and continued to be an active member in the community. He was the Chicago Bears, Bulls, and Cub’s biggest fans and every single Football Sunday, everyone knew exactly where to find Jack. He was always in his Sunday best robe, on the sofa reading the Chicago Tribune newspaper and watching da Bears. After a Bears win, Jack often tried to convince his son in law, Jeff, to smarten up and support the da Bears. Jack was incredibly generous to his friends and family and always stood out as the life of the party. He carried a few nicknames, not limited to, The Mayer, Beef, and Jacky Boy.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Lauren (Jeff) Holmes; one sister, Ginger (Mike) and one brother, Gordy. He is further survived by his 3 grand-sons, Brayden, Taylor, and Rylan; and 2 grand-daughters, Ella and Emilyn. Jack has one nephew, Eric (Renee) and one niece, Kyra.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved son, Jeffery (JJ) and stepson, Scott. He is further preceded in death by his favorite dogs, Layla, Gus, Zack, Brandy, Duke and Bo.
There will be a Celebration of Life held for Jack at the Bella Vista Suites, 335 Wrigley Drive, Lake Geneva from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
