Howard Mack Jr., of Mequon, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at Lawliss Family Hospice on March 12, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on September 14, 1931, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Howard Sr. and Grace (nee Reiner). Howard lived a life filled with compassion, dedication, and spirited enthusiasm for both his profession and personal pursuits.
A proud veteran, Howard served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. His commitment to service defined much of his character, exemplifying the values of integrity and dedication that would follow him throughout his life. Howard was united in marriage to the late Lois Mack.
Howard enjoyed a distinguished career, retiring from Wisconsin Bell/AT&T, where his outgoing and caring nature left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. His friendly demeanor and willingness to help others were hallmarks of his time in the workforce.
Outside of work, Howard was an avid supporter of the Green Bay Packers, holding season tickets for many years. His unwavering support for the team created joyful moments shared with friends and family, further highlighting his engaging personality and love for community.
In addition to his passion for football, Howard was actively involved in organizations such as the Al Jolson Society and was a member of the Tripoli Shriners, as well as a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. His pride in these affiliations reflected his commitment to philanthropy and camaraderie within the community.
Howard is survived by his son, Jay (Nancy) Mack; grandson, Scott Mack; brother, Jay (Linda) Mack; sister-in-law, Maris Mack; and a group of special friends, including Cathy, Tim, Jan, Cory, and Molly. He leaves behind not just family, but also nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends whose lives he touched with kindness and warmth.
His passing marks a significant loss to all who knew him, as Howard Mack Jr. truly embodied what it means to live with purpose, generosity, and a love for those around him. He will be remembered fondly for his contributions to both his family and community, and he leaves behind a legacy of devotion, love, and countless cherished memories. Howard's remains will be laid to rest next to his wife at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg. Private family services with full military honors will be held at a later date.
