Harold J. Olson

Harold J. Olson of Saukville, WI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. Harold was born in Superior, WI on August 18, 1943 to the late Edward D. Olson and the late Viola Hetebrugge (Whaley). He graduated from East High School Superior class of 1962.  From there he entered the U.S. Navy and served his country honorably from 1962 to 1966. Upon his return he married the love of his life, Myrtle Y. Olson (Webster) They were together for 56 years and enjoyed traveling & family time with their three children. Harold had many jobs including a municipal diesel engineer and electrician. He retired early due to his health and loved his ESA dogs a lot. His favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, spending time with family and watching the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. He was a lifelong member of the VFW, belonged to the American Legion Landt Thiel Post 470 and DAV Chapter 19 West Allis, WI. Harold was excited to hear he was going to be a great grandpa in June.

Harold is survived by his wife, Myrtle Olson; his children; Gretta (William) Coldewe, Charles Olson, Patricia Olson (Fiancé Craig Bruening) and his grandchildren; Ashley Coldewe (Fiance Robert Hughes), Brandon Coldewe and James Olson. He is further survived by various nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his brothers Maurice L. Olson and Edward J. Olson as well as his sister in law Karen Olson.

Funeral services will be held at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory 979 N. Green Bay Rd. Grafton on Thursday, January 4, 2024 – 6:00 PM with military honors to follow. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 PM – 5:45 PM. Interment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice are appreciated.
