Gustav C. "Gust" Blank

Gustav Charles Blank III Gust C. Blank (Gus), age 83 years, of Jackson, WI passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Aurora Hospital in Grafton, with family by his side. He was born in Grafton, WI on December 13, 1933 to Gustav and Bertha (Wilke) Blank. He graduated from Port Washington High school, where he met his wife of 61 years, Marlene (Egerer) Blank. He is survived by his wife; Marlene (Egerer) Blank, his son; Jeffery (Bonnie) Blank of Gleason, WI, his son; Jack Blank of Mayville, WI, his daughter; Judy (Steve) Henrichs of Jackson, WI, his son; and John Blank of Saukville, WI, and daughter in-law; Gina Blank. Gust was a very loving and caring grandfather to Tim (Jennifer), Joe, Christopher (Lindsay), Mathew (Jessica), Tracy (Aaron), Lindsey (Jack), Emily, Holden, Holly, Jordan and Jarred, his great-grandchildren; Cole, Jaxon, Hanna, Kindley, Isabella, Kyleigh, Carleon, Chloe and unborn child due in April 2018. He is also survived by his one sister-in-law; Sally Jentges, many niece, nephews, friends and families. He is preceded in death by one son; James Blank, his parents; Gustav and Bertha (Wilke), his twin-sisters; Margaret (Ken) Straub and Marion (Walter) Radke, his in-laws; Henry (Anna) Egerer and many brother and sister-in-laws. Gus was a diesel truck mechanic and owner of Blanks Truck Repair in Grafton, WI until he retired in 1998. He enjoyed fishing and many fishing trips to the Mississippi River. He enjoyed RVing and traveled all over United States with his wife, Marlene. His passion later in life was his wood working, in which he used his hard working hands to create many “masterpieces” out of wood. You could give him a piece of wood from anything and he would use it in one of his masterpieces. His most rewarding pieces of work are on forever display at the altar of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jackson, WI. There will be a funeral service held this Sunday, September 24, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jackson, WI (2881 Division Rd, Jackson, WI 53037) at 4:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Military honors to follow the service. Interment to take place at St.John’s Church Cemetery in Lakefield, WI (Grafton) on Monday, September 25, 2017. Memorials to St John’s Lutheran Church are appreciated. The family would like to greatly thank the 3rd floor MED/SURG staff and ICU staff at Aurora Hospital in Grafton for their care and compassion during his short stay.
