Gordon G. Lucht, of Grafton, was born to eternal life on May 13, 2012, at the home of his granddaughter, Michelle, in West Bend, at the age of 79 years. A Celebration of Gordy’s life will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Grafton, on Friday, May 18, 2012, at 6PM. A visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Service, on Friday, at the church, from 3PM-6PM. The Rev. Larry Prahl will be officiating the service. Interment will take place on Saturday, May 19, 2012, 11:30AM at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, in Grafton. Gordy was born on June 4, 1932, in his family home in Mequon. He attended Shorewood High School and was later united in marriage, to the love of his life, Dorothy (nee Machin) in 1953. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Joyce and Bonnie. Gordy followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a mason, and working with his dad and brother, George Lucht and Sons. He also worked for Badger Meter, in Brown Deer for over 30 years. Gordy retired from Badger Meter back in 1994. His pastimes and hobbies included traveling throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe and cheering on the Packers and Brewers. He also enjoyed spending countless hours in his yard. Gordy was known for his beautiful flower beds as well as taking took good care of his fish, in his backyard pond. Gordy always brought his fish in the house, in the fall, and then again would place them in his pond, in the spring. Gordy enjoyed attending all of the German Fests and dancing the polka. In his younger years, Gordy played the drums in a polka band. Although he enjoyed many pastimes, his true love was spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Gordy was a member of the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department for many years, and was an honorary member, at the time of his death. He was also a member of the twenty-five year club at Badger Meter. Gordy was an active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church, and was often found working in the kitchen for many of their events. Gordy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy (nee Machin) Lucht. Dear dad of Joyce (Dale) Peters and Bonnie (Mark) Lecher. Special grandpa of Stacey Peters, Michelle (Andy) Christopherson, Jennifer (Josh) Kurtz, Katie (friend Ryan) Peters, Megan Lecher, and Nathan (friend Missy) Peters. Great “Pa Pa” of Ethan Kurtz, Paige Kurtz, Olive Christopherson, Payton Kurtz, Denver and baby Christopherson. He is further survived by sister-in-law, Anita Lucht, one niece, and nephews. Gordy was preceded in death by his father, George Lucht, mother, Edna (nee Mueller) Lucht, brother, Kenneth Lucht, mother-in-law, Ella (nee Schlegl) Machin, father-in-law, William Machin, and brother and sister-in-laws, Donald (Pat) Machin.
