George W. Knuth

George W. Knuth George W. Knuth, of Cedarburg, entered into eternal life, on Friday, December 18, 2015, at Lawlis Family Hospice, in Mequon, at the age of 95 years. George was born on February 9, 1920, on the family farm, in Mequon, the son of the late Louis Knuth and the late Elsa (nee Frenz) Knuth. He was baptized into his Christian faith on February 15, 1920, and was later confirmed, on April 23, 1933, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Freistadt. George attended Trinity Ev. Lutheran Grade School, in Freistadt, and later attended Cedarburg High School. Upon his graduation from high school, George attended the University of Wisconsin, in Madison, receiving his bachelor’s degree in both Agriculture and Education. George was united in marriage to Marlene Neumann, on October 11, 1952, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Freistadt. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Gordon and Sonja. George was employed by Cedarburg Light & Water, for over 22 years, working as the office manager, as well as assisting with the accounting department. George retired from Cedarburg Light & Water, in 1990, and continued to work part time as an accountant for H & R Block during tax season. George was a man of tremendous faith and was a lifelong member at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. He will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him and loved him. George is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Marlene Knuth, children, Gordon (Patricia) Knuth and Sonja (Mark) Justesen; and grandchildren, Andrew (Lisa) Knuth, Garrett Knuth, and Alyssa Justesen. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and their spouses, Lonie (Elmer) Waechter, Irene (Walter) Reggio, Anita (Walter) Radue, Irmgard (Martin) Pipkorn, Wilfred (Ruth) Knuth, and Arnold (Gertrude) Knuth. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015, 1PM at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church (10729 W. Freistadt Rd.), in Mequon, with the Rev. Carl Lehenbauer officiating. A visitation will take place, at the church, prior to the service, from 11AM until 12:45PM. George will be laid to rest at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church are appreciated. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Lasata Care Center, in Cedarburg, for all of their wonderful care and compassion, while he was there.
