George J. Hulka

George J. Hulka, 93 A Memorial Mass will be held 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 8 at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg, WI for George John Hulka who died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the age of 93. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Jesuit Retreat House, Oshkosh appreciated. Mr. Hulka was born on June 26, 1911, in Chicago, the son of Karel Charles and Christina nee Rezabek Hulka. He attended grade and high school in Antigo, WI and was a graduate of Ripon College. While serving in the United States Army during WWII, Mr. Hulka rose to the rank of Colonel. He married Barbara nee Faytle of Berlin WI in 1941. She preceded him in death on Dec 29, 1999. Before his retirement, Mr. Hulka had an insurance agency in Cedarburg and served as the city’s Emergency Government Director during the 1960’s. He was a life member of the 40 & 8 Voiture and past commander and life member of the American Legion Rose-Harms Post 355 in Grafton. An avid golfer, Mr. Hulka was a member of the Hartford Country Club for many years. Survivors include sons Peter Julie Hulka of Cedarburg, Jon Hulka of Needmore, PA, daughter Kristin Hulka of Milwaukee, and granddaughter Tara Hulka of Milwaukee. With deep appreciation, the family wishes to acknowledge the considerate, patient and loving care provided by all at Ozaukee County’s Lasata Care Center and the thoughtfulness of Mr. Hulka’s special friend, Victor Herro.
