George E. Dauss Jr.(Chief) George went to his eternal home March 20, 2009 a celebration of his life will be held at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg on Monday March 23. A visitation will take place between 4:00-6:00 p.m. where Pastor Jonathon van Sliedrecht will be conducting the service. The burial will take place on Tuesday March 24 10:00 a.m. at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Homes For Our Troops are appreciated. For online condolences, please visit www.muellerfuneralhome.com . George was born on January 25, 1934 in Watertown Wisconsin. He grew up in Cedarburg and graduated Cedarburg High School in 1953. While a student there, he was involved in many sports, especially football due to the influence of Coach Vince Cibik. George married his high school sweetheart Carol Waters on June 23, 1956. After high school George worked at Kiekaefer(Mercury Marine) in Cedarburg. On September 12, 1956 George was drafted by the U.S. Army and was sent to basic training in Missouri. A year later George was joined by Carol in Fort Polk Louisiana. There they welcomed their 1st child Holly into the world. George received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1958. George returned to his hometown of Cedarburg Wisconsin where he resumed his position at Kiekaefer Marine, where he retired after 38 years. Over the years they were blessed with three more children Tammy, Jeff, and Todd. Over twelve years ago George was blessed with a continuation of life, due to receiving a heart transplant, which allowed him to enjoy watching his grandchildren and great grandson grow and mature. George was very active in the community and a member of many organizations including: Civil Defense, Special Police, Certified Safe Hunter and Police Firearm Instructor, and Cub Scout Leader. He was one of the Founders and first defensive coach of the Cedarburg Colts youth football program. Georges hobbies included hunting, golfing, snowmobiling, fishing, and boating. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends at his lake cottage. George will be missed due to his sense of humor, quick wit, and strong work ethic. He also had a strong sense of community spirit and a great loyalty to friends and family. George is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 52 years, Carol(nee Waters)Dauss. Dear father of daughters Holly Brown and Tammy Styers and sons Jeff (Lori) and Todd(Mary). He is further survived by eight grandchildren Brandon Neville(Leah), Brittnee and Nicholas Brown, Kaylee and Ashley Styers, Ryan and Christopher Dauss, Will Dauss and great grandson Mason Neville. He is further survived by brothers Jim (Juanita) and Ron (Maryjane) Dauss and many other relatives and Friends. George was preceded in death by his Mother, Father and two Sisters.
