George Charles Hare Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1619 Washington St., Grafton, WI on Wednesday December 21, 2011 at 1:00pm for George Charles Hare, longtime resident of Grafton who died on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the age of 82 years. Memorial gathering will be held at church on Wednesday from 11:00am until the time of Mass. Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or School in Grafton or Ozaukee County Habitat for Humanity would be appreciated. George was born on July 31, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA., son of the late George and M. Helen (nee Rittenhouse) Hare. He was a very proud graduate of Villanova University and he was honored to serve during the Korean Conflict in the US Navy. He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen D’Abruzzo and they were blessed with 2 daughters. George was a quiet man but very active. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed fishing for crappie. George and Mary Ellen have been members of St. Joseph Catholic Church since 1966. He was a member of the American Legion Rose-Harms Post 355 and assisted with buildings for Habitat for Humanity where he was Quartermaster, overseeing the tool inventory. George was especially proud of his entire family and was “pop pop” to 4 grandchildren. George’s family would like to extend a special Thank You to Annette and Horizon Home Hospice for their loving care. George is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ellen, daughters; Donna (Mike) Bender and Diane (Marc) Daniloff, grandchildren; Joelle, Alyssa and Eric Bender and Audra Daniloff, sisters; Barbara (Jack) Harran of Kingwood,TX. and Florence (John) Scott of Downingtown, PA, sisters-in-law; Nilda Byrnes and Evelyn DeNicolo, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Rauscher .
