George C Helm

George C. Helm of Thiensville, passed away at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee Campus on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the age of 76. George was born in Port Washington, WI on February 15, 1938 the son of the late John F. “Jack” and Julia (Nee Fechter) Helm. George was united in marriage to Sandra (nee Krueger) on March 2, 1963. George worked as a meat cutter for over 20 years and also was a truck driver for Herbst Oil for many years. George’s favorite hobby was making sausage. George also enjoyed bowling, golfing, boating, softball and having conversation with anyone. George and Sandra enjoyed traveling to Manitowish Waters in Northern Wisconsin to spend time outdoors and visiting with friends and neighbors. George was a member of the Peter Wollner American Legion Post 288 in Cedarburg, Ozaukee County Men’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame and the Thiensville Volunteer Fire Department. George is survived by his wife Sandra; Children: Cindy (Darwin) Shaurette and Scott (Dawn) Helm; grandchildren: Austin, Mitchell, Cassie and Serena; step-grandchildren: Kevin & Mandy (fiancé Trevor) Shaurette; Sister Jackie (Kurt) Kaltenbrun; brother-in-law Dennis (Ruth) Krueger and Wally Hauser. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. George was preceded in death by his sister Betty and brother Bud. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 – 3:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory W63 N527 Hanover Ave. Cedarburg. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1 from 12 Noon – 3:00 PM. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association appreciated. The family would like to give special thanks to the Thiensville EMT’s, and Police officer Chad Wucherer for their care and compassion.
