Fred A. Nagle

Fredrick A. Nagle passed away suddenly on the morning of Thursday, June 15 in Omaha, Nebraska after a long illness. He was 62 years old. Fred was born in Milwaukee on March 7, 1961 to Donna Peters (nee Berg).

As a kid, Fred loved listening to the radio, and especially enjoyed the Beatles. He was fascinated by the music coming over the airwaves and the slick DJs. After high school, he took a course in radio broadcasting to achieve his dream of becoming a DJ. He hung out at 93QFM in Milwaukee, doing whatever work they needed until eventually he became an on-air personality. In one of his on-air stunts, he attempted to set the Guinness Book of World Records for pancake eating. Over the years, he worked for a number of radio stations in various cities, such as Milwaukee, Phoenix, San Francisco, Cedar Rapids, Panama City, and Omaha. He came up with a number of radio names during his career (Fred Mudd and Auggie were two standouts) but most people knew him as Ken Kohls. Fred/Ken enjoyed a joke (good, bad, or otherwise), which helped him to come up with promotional campaigns and make many friends. After his time in radio, he transitioned to working as a tour merchandise manager for Bret Michaels. Over the years, he enjoyed getting to know so many people on the road and liked to help out anyone when he could. Recently, Fred had gotten off the road and was working for Werner Enterprises.

Though his work often had him traveling or living away, he loved coming back to Wisconsin to spend time with his family in his home state.

Fred is survived by his children: Gabrielle Nagle and Jacob Nagle. He is further survived by his siblings: Tammy (Paul) Michelfelder, Lori Nagle, Jennifer Nagle, Michael Peters, Lisa (Ilya) Rosson, and Mandy (Ed Hanson) Peters. Fred is further survived by nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Fred is preceded in death by his mother Donna Peters, his father James Peters, and his daughter Danielle Nagle.
