Franklin H. Robison

Franklin H. Robison, of Grafton, was Born into Eternal Life on May 22, 2024, at the age of 89 years, at the Kathy Hospice, in West Bend.

A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, 1:00 PM at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Cedarburg, with the Rev. Wilmer Reichmann presiding. There will be a time for visiting and sharing refreshments with family and friends, immediately following the service. Following the fellowship, the interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery (corner of 3rd Ave. and North St.), in Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the First Immanuel Lutheran Guardian Angels Program or to Eastbrook Academy are appreciated.

Frank was born on October 25, 1934, in Dubuque, Iowa, and moved to Beloit, at the age of 12, where his parents owned a bakery. He would later graduate from Beloit High School, with the class of 1953. Frank worked building homes until he joined the United States Army, as a paratrooper, in 1958. He was honorably discharged on November 30, 1962. He then went on to work construction jobs in Milwaukee and met his bride to be at the Palomar Roller Rink. Frank and Elizabeth “Betty” Messerschmidt were wed on June 18, 1966. Together their marriage was blessed with a son and a daughter to whom he was very close.

Frank was a policeman in Shorewood for 2 years, and then in Mequon for 23 years and he felt good serving the Mequon community. When new residents came to Mequon, he personally welcomed them. Frank enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing cycle alone, with his wife, with a friend, or on trips with his son, Mark. He also enjoyed being with his daughter, Colleen, hearing about her nursing experiences, or about his grandchildren.

Family celebrations were especially enjoyable for him. Flying to Colorado to visit Mark’s family was very special, especially driving through the mountains he would often say, “Hurray for God.” He enjoyed dance roller skating and ballroom dancing with his wife. Going to “Organ Piper” restaurant to listen to the Theatre organ played by a favorite organist was a special treat. He and his wife were members of the DairyLand Theatre Organ Society, and they attended many organ socials. A unique time was helping to remove and transport an organ to a friend’s home.

Feeding birds and animals gave him much pleasure. Racoons, chipmunks, squirrels, and opossums would come and plead for food. He enjoyed being alone watching and studying the birds while “How it’s Made” on TV. During his last days he would say, “I have had a full life and am ready to meet Jesus and He is calling me.”

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty (nee Messerschmidt) Robison, children, Colleen (Mike) Weitzer and Mark (Heather nee Hamann) Robison, grandchildren: Joran (Bonnie) Weitzer, Jacob Weitzer, Kya Weitzer, Mariah Weitzer, Zarrie Weitzer, Jonah Weitzer, Olivia Weitzer, Amber Robison, and Bella Robison; sisters-in-law, Dolores (John) Watson, Marlene Aumuller, and Ruth (Terry) Groh, brother-in-law, Bill (Millie nee Bellin) Messerschmidt, nieces: Julie (Becky) Watson, Jana (Dirk) Gruettner, Tammy (Jim) Sexton, Kim (Andy) Szekely, and Kristen (Stu) Sommers; and nephews: John (Nancy) Watson, Paul (Lucy) Watson, Joshua (Nadine) Groh, Todd (Sue) Aumuller, Tim (Karen) Aumuller, and Kurt (Wendy) Sabie. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Orla and Eva (nee Lindquist) Robison, in-law, Erwin and Clara (nee Lewin) Messerschmidt, sister, Carol Demming, sister-in-law, Carol Neuman, brother-in-law, Richard Aumuller, and nephew, Jim Sabie.

He will be missed by his family who loved him and by the friends who shared time with him.

As his wife I believe that: “God loved us through thick and thin and with that, eternally we both win.”
